Learn about wine in your hometown!

Members of the American Wine Society in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Hawaii and Alaska

The northwest is unique. We know it, we love it, and we are proud of it!

In the northwest, we have grapes, wineries, home winemakers, wine enthusiasts, winemaking colleges, a thriving tourism industry supported by wine, and we LOVE our wine!  While most of the eastern states enjoy native and hybrid grapes (we have those too!), we have great access to high quality vinifera grapes and wines.  And we can easily get to the wineries, taste the wines, and meet the winemakers.

We all know that California has more wineries than any other state, but our prices for wines, dinners and hotels are generally lower, and often we find that our winemakers are very approachable.  Throughout the year we have winery events, winemaker dinners, festivals, classes, and meetups that are all about wine, and we can stay inside when the weather isn’t suitable for outdoor hobbies and activities.
