About the speakers:
Bob Sands has worked in the welding field since 1973 when he started his career at Butler manufacturing. He has worked as a welder, welding instructor, supervisor and currently a position as a welding engineer/supervisor at Production engineering Corporation. He has been involved in writing weld procedures for FMC/United Defense/BAE Systems and PEC. He has also worked with several vendors in this area while with FMC. He has been an active member of the local AWS section for the past 15 years and is a 23 year member of the AWS.
Todd Brigidum took his interests in art and literature from Hamline University and decided to take a different path in his “graduate” studies by pursuing welding and metal fabrication as a career. Upon reestablishing the Welding and Metal Fabrication program at Minneapolis Community and Technical College, Todd immediately saw the usefulness of his liberal studies in the development of course curriculum and training materials for companies and institutions across America. This culminated in his first published book, How To Weld, which is currently being used by educational institutions across the country.
Dwight Affeldt has been involved in various aspects of the welding industry for more than 25 years. He is a graduate from the Central Lakes College Welding Program, the Ridgewater College Nondestructive Testing Program and hold a BES degree from St. Cloud State University. Dwight has experience in the utility industry, including fossil, nuclear, and refuge derived fuels including pipeline and natural gas distribution. he has also worked structural welding activities and government contracts. In addition to his many welding certifications Dwight is a Certified Welding Inspector from the American Welding Society and hold several Level III certifications from the American Society for Nondestructive Testing.
